Because I ate yesterday, like I used to eat 2+ years and 80+ pounds... Behold these choices:
- A cream donut from McMillan's Bakery in NJ (my parents brought them down) - you can see the pictures, but each donut probably weighs half-a-pound each. And there were a dozen of them.
- Eggs Benedict including homemade hollandaise sauce for brunch
- A cheese and turkey roll up for later lunch
- "Amazing Thai" with chicken for a late Dinner (Chicken and veggies on rice in a peanut sauce)
WTF??? Part of me argues that it was tradition - we were celebrating Christmas the way we used too... which included the donuts and eggs benedict. And while every bite was fantastic, needless to say my stomach has NOT been appreciative of any of it today in more ways than one. Ugh. I certainly could have made a few better choices, but I didn't. It is interesting to me though, just how far I have come - although it all tasted good (really good in some cases), I just can't handle the rich stuff anymore. And to think I used to eat like that more often than not. No wonder I was over 283 at my highest! Time to start healthier Christmas "morning" traditions!

Lucia had her Christmas pageant last night, and was an Angel (of course!)... she did a great job... here are some pix of her in the pageant... Enjoy!

OMG, it's like food porn. Those pastries look sooooo freaking good. No wonder you couldn't turn them down. Dealing with food traditions is so tough, we don't want to miss out, yet we also don't want to feel miserable after either. Tough choice.
I want one :)
Yum yum yum!! It's OK to do that once in a while. (Confession: I have eggs Benedict almost once a week...). Lucia is adorable in her angel costume! So cute!!
Food traditions are the worst, but.. eh. It is what it is and you go from here.
Lucia is absolutely adorable!!
And it gets even better... today I spent the afternoon making Xmas cookies with Lucia... HHHEEELLLPPP!!!!! Thankfully I didn't do too much damage with those and they are packed up to give away!
Donuts look great Sarah! I will not send the recipe until after Christmas so you will not be tempted to make it!
Lucia looks adorable as usual!
Those look delicious! It sounds like you are having a great holiday. Enjoy!
Yes, they look delicious!
Your daughter is beautiful!
This is my first Christmas with the band and it's been a challenge. There are so many gatherings with great food and drinks. I don't think my restriction is where it needs to be.
First, your daughter is beautiful!
Second, those donuts look like the most amazing donuts I've ever seen in my entire life. I can see why you couldn't resist them.
Wow! Can we say yummy? Holy cow! haha I remember the donut days!
Lucia is so adorable!
