Disney Fun... Where I realized how hard old habits die...

At Dinner - Raglan Road
Dennis and I went away to WDW last weekend for a belated 10th anniversary and had a lot of fun...  but, I gained 5 pounds.  I will say, that a lot of the time, my subconscious was DEFINITELY noticing the weight I've gained from the baby, and some of the mental justification that I used to use for myself (you're too fat to exercise... one more bite won't hurt...) started creeping back in.

It has been a very interesting mental journey, this 2nd time being pregnant... because I am starting to really remember what it felt like to be heavier.  Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.  And I am still a good 60 pounds away from my heaviest weight!  Yet, I find myself huffing a bit more and taking the elevator a bit more... making excuses a bit more... not good things my friends, not good things.  How easily we fall back into the old habits!

Yes, I might have "an excuse", but not really - if anything, I need to be walking the stairs MORE and eating my protein and veggies EVEN MORE now regardless of having no fluid in my band.  Yet, these old habits have been quite easy to fall back in to... so, for the rest of Lent, I am going to make every effort to get those 5 fruits and veggies in a day, start focusing on my protein intake again (did you know you need MORE protein being pregnant than banded?  I didn't... Try 60-80g / day...) and gosh darn it, taking the stairs UP regardless of just how heavy my belly might feel at that moment, because I can't wait to get back to Onderland, and there is no point in making the journey any longer than it needs to be after baby boy is born!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend...  This was our first time at the Flower Show - they put on quite a showing!!!  All of the "character" pictures are topiaries of various kinds.  Pretty cool!

Happy Anniversary!!! That is a neat way to spend it. And those scenes, especially the Bambi scene, are pretty amazing!

Hang in there, Sarah!

We were there at the Flower and Garden Festival Saturday! It was beautiful, wouldn't it be funny if we ran into each other?

You look really good Sarah, and I'm sure you'll get right back on track when the baby gets here. Take care!

Happy anniversary! It looks like you had a nice time. It also sounds like you are doing (or thinking about doing) all the right stuff to stay on track. Pregnancy is a hard time to be worried about your weight. With my first pregnancy, I gained 60 lbs. I walked on my lunch hour, but wasn't otherwise very active. With #2 I worked out in a gym twice a week and rode my bike about 5 miles a day, 5 days a week. And I still gained 60 lbs. I'm not saying you're going to gain a bunch of weight like I did, but our bodies sort of have a plan of their own when it comes to pregnancy, I'm afraid. Just keep plugging away and doing your best! And do try to get some activity in there as it makes delivery easier (or so they say).

Good attitude, just have to make it happen! Good luck, Mama!!! I know how hard it is when you're feeling not so tiny!
