I am 12 days away from my 4th bandiversary, and have been on liquids for 3 days... I had a violent "episode" of vomiting last week which resulted in my band being completely tight to the point that I couldn't swallow water... so went in for a slight unfill... went from 5 to 2.5... They wanted to see me under floroscopy this past Tuesday, and here is where I ended up:
My band is good - no slippage, and looks great. However, my pouch is a bit stretched out, so they decided for me to do 2 weeks (!) of liquids. UGH! It is almost like I am reliving the liver-shrinking-diet from pre-op. This is a good thing for me though, because I really want to keep on being successful with the band, and as I approach year 4 on February 20th, I want to be doing things right!
So, on the 19th I go back to find out how things look, and I am hopeful that everything will be back to normal. In the meantime, I need to find some good liquids (and mush) - basically my rule is primarily liquid with nothing to chew (i.e. cottage cheese, yogurt, etc... are okay). I have made it through alright, but boy the grumpy-monster comes out of the closet a bit easier when there is no solid food in the tummy!
I'll keep you posted - maybe this will catapult me under that 200 mark. Tuesday I was at 213... this morning I'm at 207.2. Fingers crossed!

That's tough!!! My favorite mushies are cottage cheese with marinara and parmesan cheese under the broiler...yum. And mashed potatoes thinned with milk add cheese. Note: cheese trend. Hang in there! We are like weight twins, I want to be under 2, so bad...maybe I need liquids to get there. But I am giving up wine and sweets for Lent...pray for me. I hope you feel better soon!
Happy bandiversary! I hope 199 is in your near future and that all your stretched pouch issues have resolved themselves.
Happy bandiversary!! So sorry to hear that you went through this, but that liquid diet will surely give you a big jump start! My favorite mushies.... refried beans and cheese... which I bet you could thin out with chicken stock. I also loved thinned out mashed potatoes.. and any soup that I could puree.
Maybe make some soups this weekend and freeze them in individual portion containers? That got me through liquids pretty well and having delicious things to eat made it a lot easier!
Hang in there my friend! You'll be back in Onederland soon!! :)
Ugh! You poor thing. My most recent favorite liquid/mushy is the Panera-style broccoli cheese soup, pureed. It's quite tasty and satisfying. I hope this will get you where you want to be!
Thanks all!!! Great suggestions and I will be (or have) trying MANY of them!!! Will keep you posted.
You look fantastic and I hope this works well for you. I'm sorry you have to deal with 2 weeks of liquids. I'm not sure I'd be able to pull that off. I bet you'll be under that 200 mark in NO TIME! Best of luck to you!
