One Last (hopefully) Belly Picture...

We had a GREAT day together yesterday... lots of "Lu" attention and love, and she got to do all the things she loves to do... Here are belly shots from yesterday, which will hopefully be the last ones until we get back to the "before" and "after" shots once I'm back down in the low 200's and then UNDER and back into onderland!  There is just NO MORE ROOM in there for this little boy... we'll keep ya'll posted!

Our Fingers are Crossed...

photo_317629_fingers-crossed.html.jpg

That tomorrow's amniocentesis will provide good news that baby boy is ready to join our family! We are definitely ready to meet him (me especially)...

We have a nice quiet day planned, with a bit of a "treat" for Lucia... We are celebrating our last special day as a "threesome". We told her she could choose where to go for dinner, and a few other little things she wanted to do, so here is her agenda for the afternoon:

  • Pick up some pottery we painted last weekend at All Fired Up...
  • Go to Barnes & Noble.  She's already read 8 books toward her summer reading goal (school's not even out yet!) and once you hit 8, you get a free book at B&N - great program if you have kids - you can check it out here...
  • Go to the Apple Store - she has save enough allowance and other money (Christmas, etc...) to buy herself a shuffle.  I wonder how long until she looses it.  Oh well... she desperately wants one.  A pink one, of course!
  • Go to the Build-A-Bear store to spend her $5 birthday certificate that they sent her...
  • Go to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner.  YUM!
Other than that, just wrapping up a few last minute things for the baby and getting the house back in order! I hope I don't jinx myself that getting everything finished means he won't come on Tuesday... oh well - not too much we can do about it!  Fingers crossed...

The birth... of a new blog layout!

So what do you think???

Once again, Jen at Just Foolin' Blog Designs has worked her magic!

I was feeling like with the new baby coming SOON, and the need to restart my weightloss with "Band2.0", it made sense to give my blog a facelift.  I LOVE IT!  I love how the layout turned out and how it really represents me.  She is great to work with - really made me think about this journey, and what it represents in  my life!  Half therapist, Half Web designer!  Thanks Jen... you are so amazingly talented!!!

No baby updates yet - hopefully we'll meet the little guy next week!

Nursery Pictures, a new haircut and a Post-Band Pregnancy NSV!

Hi everyone... I obviously haven't been blogging a whole lot lately, since there hasn't been a ton to talk about that is band related!  I am hopefully 12 days out from meeting the little guy, and thought I would share some pictures of his nursery, a picture of my new haircut, give you a quick pregnancy update and share an unexpected NSV with you!

BABY UPDATE:
Saw the doctor today, and he is weighing in at 6 pounds, 13 ounces... BIG BOY!  Remember, I am only (only?!?!) 36 weeks pregnant and they gain about a pound a week at this point...  Everything is looking good, and they were happy with my progress.  C-section is scheduled for the 14th, assuming he passes his tests the day before.

NEW HAIRCUT & NSV...
I got my haircut last week.  Note to self:  choosing a new style when 35 weeks pregnant is NOT a good idea... It turned out to be a LOT shorter than I planned on it being, and I wasn't too sure about it the first few days (in fact, Lucia burst into tears and told me she wanted her "real mommy" back when she first saw it), but it has grown on me a bunch - and lord knows it is easy!  Wash, put a smidge of gel in it, let it dry, DONE!

This picture also is part of the NSV...  It was a completely unexpected one too - I put on this non-maternity tank top that is a size 2x (18-20), and it completely fits and is actually too big - I mean, I am 9 months pregnant (36 weeks) and it covers my HUGE belly, and has plenty of room to spare....  WHOO HOOO!!!!  I also bought some cheap PJ's at Wal-mart for the hospital, and just grabbed a set of the 2x, thinking that they might be a bit snug, but that post-baby they would fit to wear around the hospital.  Nope... they are too big NOW!  They'll do fine since I want something loose around my incision, but that was a definite boost to my ego that 9 months in, I can fit in 2x clothes and have them be too big.  YAY!

And as a side-note NSV tying in the haircut, it does make my face look a lot thinner, AND accentuates the fact that I still have collar-bones, even 2 weeks away from having a baby!  Yippee!

NURSERY UPDATE:
On the nursery front, we are about 98% done - just have some valances to hang, his name to paint on some canvases that we bought (which will happen once he is home), and a few other odds and ends and then we are set!  I love, love, love how it turned out... very beachy and relaxing.  Not that it will matter to him, but it is a color that will be in there a while.  It is hard to tell from the pictures, but it is a really beautiful aqua/teal blue color...  And the artwork hanging on the wall was done by Lucia, herself!  It is very exciting to all of us that she had a few pieces that fit the motif and we were able to get framed and hang up in there!

Pre-Painting...  Cotton Candy Pink
View from inside the room - the picture is of a fish rubbing that Lucia did and had entered into the county art show, which was very exciting!
View from the side of the room where the crib is - this picture is one she did of an alligator.
