So I think I'm having a bit of "nesting" anxiety already! Yikes.. I am really, REALLY wanting to purge, purge, purge... clean out, throw out, get rid of, ebay, craigs' list, etc... We have too much stuff... and when I went into my closet yesterday, I got completely overwhelmed. Part of it is that EVERYTHING is in there because now I am using maternity clothes - so I'm not mid-laundry... but man - even though I've cleaned that out a bunch during the weight loss journey, I still have a TON of clothes that others have graciously and generously shared. And that is just my closet. I have 4 other bedrooms, plus the rest of my house to deal with, and I NEED TO CLEAN OUT! So, my "resolution" (I don't make them for the New Year)... Nope, my PLAN and COMMITEMENT TO MYSELF is that by the end of Spring Break (which isn't until mid-April) I will go through all the rooms in my house, one by one, and start purging in an HONEST and realistic way. By honest, I mean "Sarah, do you really need 30 coffee mugs?"-kind-of-conversations... or "Sarah, why do you have books that you won't read? Bring them to the friends-of-the-library-sale!". It is time, Sarah. It is time.
The time I spend over Christmas at our friend's house, who has this "less-is-more" philosophy much better under control, was so nice. I would like to allow myself a few more tchotkes but even if I halve what I have, it will be a start! And I know that I always feel better when I give what we don't need or use to others, or take all that got-at-a-bday-party-or-happy-meal-crap that Lucia collects to the dump.
I have never tried to sell on Ebay or Craig's List... anyone out there have experience with selling? I know how to buy... hence the "stuff" problem! If so, give me some suggestions! Most of our stuff we donate, but if I can make a little money off some of it to furnish / decorate the nursery, all the better!

I've sold things on both ebay and Craigslist. They are both pretty simple. ebay has a tutorial you can use to get you started. I don't think you'll have any trouble. My only suggestion would be to make sure you know the exact weight of items for shipping. I burned myself more than once by guessing how much I thought something weighed only to find it was more. My profits were eaten up by the extra shipping costs.
I have sold a trailer and a washer/dryer on Craigs list. VERY EASY! Basically, you upload and write an ad. Both or I should say all three went so fast! You'll definitely make some money Sarah!
Sarah, that is so awesome about you being pregnant!! I missed your last post during the holidays and just learned this right now!! I am so happy for you and your family!!
As for selling on eBay and Craig's List, it's super easy and the software is very user-friendly. You'll be able to walk yourself through it pretty easily.
OMG. I can't believe I missed your previous post. Congratulations on the pregnancy!! You'll do great. So happy for you and hubby and Lucia.
I would just pack away half of the tchokes and keep them away for a few months before you get rid of them. That will let you see if you want to change out the ones on display or not. I've purged over the years and now will only buy something decorative if I have a place for it or give something away. It is a very freeing feeling not to have so much "stuff" lying around. My sister has so much stuff everywhere in her house, it is stressful being there at times. I did find it hard to get rid of some of my fav things but kept a few. I just don't put them all out at the same time.
Again. Happy pregnancy. Sure glad I'm not going through that again.
OMG! I missed your last post somehow, congratulations, Mazel Tov, yay yay yay! I am so excited for you Sarah!
It's funny, both of us being unfilled, albeit for very different reasons, but I can relate to sometimes feeling unbanded and sometimes being keeeeeenly aware of the band still!
Can't wait to follow this leg of your journey! Big hugs and kisses!
I have sold lots of furniture and appliances within days of posting on Craigslist. Just be sure to have some one with you when they come to look at your items.
What the?? You're pregnant? Oh I have missed sooo much through being away. That sucks!!
A huge congrats. I wish I had been around to share the news orignally - sigh. But I'm here now. I'm stoked for you darl - really stoked. I will have to keep a closer eye on your blog now. xxxxx
Teachers and librarians love got-at-a-bday-party-or-happy-meal-stuff! Kids love them for prizes, so even that will be easier to get rid of. and congratulations!
