Cruisin' with Mickey...

Hello my WLS (and other) friends!  I figure it's been 2 months - maybe I can get back to monthly posts, lol!!!

All is well in the Fogler household.  I am doing great post band-to-RNY conversion.  I feel wonderful, no reflux issues, sleeping well, and down in the 160's.  I am a bit higher than I've been (168) but totally worth it as we got back last weekend from the BEST (EVER!) vacation - we did a Disney Cruise to the Eastern Caribbean and it was just divine!

So a few pics below... but highlights were that Lucia and I bought formal dresses for Formal night, which I would have shied away from before... (Liam is hiding in this picture)

I sat out in my bathing suit on deck, TOTALLY COMFORTABLY all vacation long!  I definitely am more conscious of my "elephant" skin (lots of saggy extra skin in my legs and on my arms)... but I choose to celebrate it!  And I did the Aquaduck water slide with the kids over 15 times... NEVER would have done that 140 pounds heavier!

Highlight - I was able to do a walking tour of Castillo de San Cristobol in Puerto Rico with NO issue.  Yes, it was hot.  Yes, I was sweating, but I wasn't huffing and puffing and hurting like I would have in the past.  In fact, I powered through it better than the kids!

I dressed up like a pirate without feeling TOO self conscious!  After seeing how the majority were dressed, I realized I was vanilla ice cream in comparison, lol!

Hung out in tank tops, shorts, and bathing suit cover ups without any thought to how I looked!

All in all, it was a great experience personally.  Add to that the amazing customer service, great food, wonderful cleanliness of the ship and having 7 days away from reality with just my family, and I can't think of a better combination!  I was able to comfortably manage the food - honestly, the buffet was easiest because I could manage my own (really small) portions - dinner I felt more guilty that I left a LOT behind on my plate, but after the first night of explaining that I had WLS and wouldn't finish a meal (and that it didn't mean it was bad), it was great.  In fact, they would make a point to bring me what they considered "small" portions...  not so small, but it was the thought that counted!  I know they are expensive, but boy was it worth the price...  HIGHLY recommend it to anyone (with kids, or without)!

Hope all of you out there are doing well in the WLS world - I think of you all often!  And to the friends and family still following my blog, love to you all as well!!!  xoxoxoxoxox

You look absolutely wonderful! I have been a long time lurker to your board, and was banded around the same time as you, still have mine tho. I have lost around 115 lbs., down to roughly 180, 175 on a good week! Just wanted to let you know, your posts do not go unnoticed, nor do your accomplishments! BTW, there really is something to be said about being comfortable in your own skin in just a tank or a swimsuit. For those of us who have been obese, and have come out the other side, we celebrate these huge victories together! Best of luck to you! I'd love to email or chat back and forth with you. Im in Knoxville, TN, not too far away…
