There. I said it. I always told myself I would be honest with this blog, and I can't tell you how much it PAINS me to write this. I seriously contemplated ignoring it until those 2.3 pounds were gone and never admitting it to you or to myself. BUT, I need to, or else I just cheat myself. I have not done well this month. Why? Well, I could blame it on the heat, vacation, blah, blah, blah... honestly? I've been lazy...both mentally and physically... and cheating the system a little bit (i.e. drinking with my meals and sliders). Phew. It is out. Time to move beyond it... So here is my plan to fix it, 'cause the choices aren't okay.
~~~
- I have an appointment scheduled next week with my NP - yesterday I was able to eat an entire 6" roast beef hoagie (including the roll). That shouldn't happen... I'm hungry about 2.5 hours after a meal, and so I think I might need a little "tweak"...
- I am reloading the house with lots of fruit, veggies and lean protein
- I am re-starting my 10K training plan which I've attached as a picture... click on it to see a large, generic version... So, that means I am also starting to run again... Time to break out the sneakers and running gear, and start fresh. I have built up my schedule of races into the fall (I am signed up or will be for the following races) which will get me to my goal of 37 miles before (okay, 5 days after) my 38th birthday:
- 5K in Richmond, Sept. 18th
- Komen 5K - Chicago, Sept. 25th
- Ashland Harvest 5K - Ashland, Oct 16th
- Wicked 10K - Virginia Beach, Oct. 30th
- Run-A-Latke 5K - Richmond, Nov. 21st
- Busch Gardens 8K - W'burg, Dec. 5t
That is a start... I'll keep you posted!
Holy smokes! That's awesome that you signed up for all those races, but even crazier than they are all over the place! East Coast! Chicago? West Coast! Lucky freaking you! That's exciting.
If you can eat that much bread, then I agree, you need a fill. I hope you get to see the NP soon!
Happy Friday to you!
I like you're attitude! You're not whining about it, you're just fixing it. Way to go!
you got this! and thanks for keeping it real...
Your honesty is refreshing. So is your attitude and your commitment.
Being able to eat that much bread would make me want a fill, too.
Please don't beat yourself up, though. If you've enjoyed your month of vacation and heat-evasion, then I'd see these 2 pounds as (temporary) souvenirs but take away that you really enjoyed July! While a gain is not what we want, enjoying life, is. And if that's what you got, then it's worth it. Cause, now, like me, you're turning it back around. I think that's pretty cool.
Yep, honesty is the best way to go...keeps you accountable. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get going on your plan of action. I know you can do it :)
On a positive note - you were able to maintain under 200. Being under the 'Big 2' is a feat in and of itself.
:)
Ah the dreaded gain and wondering whether to post it or not....so hard. I'm glad you got it out there and hope you feel better. It won't stay - you'll lose it again and get back on track - you've been super busy. And yay on the runs - good for you. You're human Sarah - ups, downs, good, bad - it's what makes you you - and I'm glad you share it with us.
It happens. The gains- I'm on a similar page. Up and down and up and down, it makes me crazy! Good for you for getting in for your fill and setting your awesome running goals!
I love your plan, and can tell this gain is not going to be a setback at all for you.
