Dr. Carmody and 7.5
I met the surgeon today. He is a REALLY nice guy - and cute too! Dennis came with me to the meeting, and we both talked to Dr. Carmody for about 30 minutes... what to expect, what our questions were, his thoughts on various things, etc... I feel so excited about this - he spent a TON of time with us (IMHO) and was willing to take as long as possible to answer our questions. Great bedside manner.
His big area was around making sure that as soon as possible, I ramp up the walking and start easing into exercising. I can't lift anything over 20 pounds for a month, so he prefers walking that first month. Hopefully the weather will stay nice enough for me to be outside doing that.
I told him that my biggest (albeit totally irrational) fear was with the anesthesia, and that I would wake up when they are putting in the tube... he promised me that he'll make sure they give me a heavy dose of whatever wonder-drug they give you, and also promised that I won't remember a thing. As he said, "you'll be high-fiving us and talking a big game into surgery and won't have a clue when you wake up"... I just hope I don't say anything stupid - oh well, if I do - who cares, right?
So - what about the 7.5??? Well, I've decided to update my weight tracker and use the Dr's office measurements for now... because according to them, I've lost 7.5 pounds in a week on this liver-shrinking diet - whooo hoooo! Dr. C thinks that I'll lose another 5 or so before surgery, and said he is very pleased with that progression.
I think I'll buy a new scale - the one we've had is OLD - and this is as good a time as any to really get a good one.
OK - good way to end a day (although i'm still at work and will be until about 9 - hate the night meetings). Keep tuned in! And thanks again for all your support so far. 1 week to go!

I think that getting a new scale is a great idea. I read where the springs in scales wear with time leaving you with an incorrect reading- thus a new scale will give you more accurate, pound for pound results.
