Papaya Enzyme and V-8 V-Fusion Lite

OK - I said I had two things to share, and here they are:
  • PAPAYA ENZYME: My doctor's office gave us a bible to read before the surgery. It was a good two inches thick. One of the tips they suggest, is to keep papaya enzyme on hand should you get stuck. It apparently has something in the enzyme that helps break up food and help it "process"... After one particularly bad experience, I decided to give it a whirl... Glad I did! I got a bit stuck the other day, popped in two tablets, chewed them up, and it seemed to help break up whatever was stuck. And it tastes pretty good too! I've used them a few times now... most of the time it has worked. I keep a small container in my purse with me, when I seem to have any signs of things not going down... so far, so good!

  • V-8 V-Fusion Light: I've historically (last 100 days = a long history) had some challenges getting in my fruit and vegetables. So, the nutritionist that does the band support groups suggested trying V-8. Well, I HATE tomato juice. HATE IT. Not even in a Bloody Mary. But she said the Fusion and Splash versions count as well toward your fruit/vegetable intake, and I tried the Pomegranate-Bluberry Light juice... DELICIOUS! Lucia loves it, and we've gone through a bottle in a day. And it isn't bad mixed with champagne either! (Think Mimosa with pomegranate/blueberry juice instead of OJ)... however, I don't recommend that since we all know that champagne is empty calories (hee hee hee)

I'll keep sharing things I'm finding as they seem to work for me! :-)

Thanks for the hints. I hardly EVER get in fruits or veggies and I do like tomato juice, but I like having a few other options too. Keep up the good work.

I will try the fruit and vegetable alternatives. You are just a wealth of information. Thanks Sarah.

I'm not chastising here but CAN WE HAVE CHAMPAGNE?! Just the other day the hubby was like "aww man, you can't have champagne, oh well, more for me" because it has carbonation. I just tell myself I can't have anything carbonated or I'll explode. LOL

Tiffani - i don't think technically we're supposed to have it b/c of the carbonation. I'll admit - it was the first time I've broken that rule, but it seemed to be okay - the bubbles basically disappeared in the juice. And I'm not planning to make it a regular habit by any stretch!!! :-)
