Many of us have had our wish-lists of things to do when we lose the weight, and I know a number of you have some form of roller coaster on yours... I wouldn't mind the roller coaster thing, but it wasn't super high on my list. Secretly (and I honestly don't think I've told ANYONE this) I've had this dream of being able to go on the swings again... you know, the grown-up ones that raise you up high in the air and twirl you around... I haven't been on one in probably 18 years... They were too tight on the thighs, and then just got to the point that I simply couldn't wedge myself into them... and honestly?!?!? I was terrified that I would break off and fly through the air, mid-swing because I was so damn heavy. Well, today we finally (!) activated our season's pass to Kings Dominion and took Lucia up there... we had an absolute blast! The weather was perfect - cloudy and 75, so no one there... no lines, no heat, we just couldn't ask for a better day... and guess what? Not only did I go on TWO roller coasters, but I also did the swings. TWICE. And seriously, I couldn't wipe the giant grin off my face. What a blast! And I only briefly wondered whether or not they would hold me... then took a deep breath in, and told mean-sarah where to go, and got on! Yes, they are still a tad tight in the thighs (crap - I'm not sure a 15 year old, size 8 girl would fit in them) but I did it! And had fun. And it was a good thing for me, to realize that even though I haven't seen much scale movement, there are HUGE physical (and emotional) changes that have happened as a part of this journey.

That's awesome!!!
OMG - we love Kings Dominion. I used to like roller coasters, but they got too uncomfortable. However, they always scared the crap out of me so not sure I'll ride even if I can fit. Will you go to Kings Dominion for the Halloween thing they do? Maybe we can meet there sometime with our families. Does Lucia like roller coasters? My girls and hubby love them.
Great NSV Sarah! I've had those fears of the chains breaking. I haven't been to KD in years, but it's so close to us I should look into going soon.
How great, and I love the photos!! I absolutely want to make plans to see you guys when you're in New York. Looking forward to Chicago, too!
Good for you!!! Looks like you had a well-deserved great time. :)
Great NSV Sarah! Those swings scare the be-jesus out of me...I think its the chain breaking thing! Put me on the highest roller-coaster and twirl me around and around but no swings!
Great NSV!! Love your smile :)
great job! I can feel your pride with that smile! YAY! DeeDee
I am so happy for you! I used to go to King's Dominion when we lived in VA. Lots of memories there.
OMG - those things scare the hell out of me but I'm a paranoid freak so I'm going to live vicariously through you brave girl! I hope you post about your conclusions soon - I love to hear how your mind works. Cheer up buttercup - we love you!
Awww, you look so beautiful with that big smile on your face! I can totally relate and I can't wait to ride some rides!
Look at you swinging that NSV all about - so cool!
How fun is that???!!! Funk or not, you are still succeeding!!! Pat yourself on the back and remember that the number that you see on the scale is only one way to measure success.
that looks like so much FUN!!.. and what a great NSV.. good for you.
As far as the funk.. just decided on an activity and just DO IT.. I am doing that excercise challenge.. I know I am not going to win, but I will win against the old me.. and I will feel good about it. hugs. can't wait to meet you in CHI
I could NEVER do the swings. Not even if I weighed a hundred pounds. Those things freak me the hell out. I'm impressed just that you could do those without passing out like I would have.
SQUEEE!!!! FLYYYYING through the air! You look so happy!!
Awesome! Great NSV! I can't wait to try the swings or a ride! I am glad your blogging again, I have missed you!!
