Happy Birthday to Me!

Well, the title is a little self-serving, but I can honestly say as I turn 38 today, that I have given myself an incredible gift over this last year and a half... I look and feel better now than I did at 18, 25, 28, 30, 36...  My Mom brought some old pictures down a few weeks ago, and I didn't realize how heavy I was - even in high school / college.  It was sad, but also really exciting to see how much better I look now than I did then.  And I think that while 80 pounds has made a difference, I've lost thousands of pounds in my head and gained that same amount of confidence.  Even though I haven't lost an ounce in a few months, I am SO much healthier than I was.  And I am proud of myself!  I feel good and I look pretty darn good too!!!  Sometimes I forget that and forget how far I've come.  Not today.  Today is a day for celebrating that!  So yay for gifts of health to ourselves... I've decided I am a big fan of those! 

And I think I posted in a prior post that I didn't make my goal of running 38 "official" miles before I turned 38, but I did run a little over 25 miles which isn't too shabby.  And my next goal is 40 "official" miles before that big milestone!  Yup - skipping 39... and that is okay!!!
