An Adult Weekend...

I am SO EXCITED...  Thursday night, Dennis and I are heading to The Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia for a long weekend to celebrate a really great friend's wedding...  Neither one of us can remember the last time we've been away together for more than 2 nights without Lucia, and for something FUN...  Something ADULT... YIPPEE!!!  My parents are coming in Thursday to watch her, and we'll leave after work to drive to WV (about 3 hours)...  We're going to bring our bikes (I think) to ride around Friday and Saturday mornings... Friday afternoon we each have "services" booked... he is doing a hour long "Intro to skeet/clay shooting session" and I'm doing the "Greenbrier treatment" at the spa... (HURRAY!)  Then we are meeting a dear friend for dinner at Prime 44 West (a premier steak restaurant) and then going to the "night before the wedding" cocktail party.  Saturday is the Bunker Tour (the Greenbrier used to be the "emergency white house"and the Bunker was built to protect members of Congress in the event of a nuclear attack),  then lunch with another friend or two, and then the wedding on the Colonial Terrace at 5:30 with a cocktail hour, reception and then the casino to follow...  SUCH FUN!  They are one of those few places that still have a dress code, which while stresses me out a tad, also makes me VERY excited.   There is something to be said about having to "dress" for a cocktail, dinner, or just to be in the lobby.

We've always wanted to go but could never really justify the cost (if you haven't figured it out, we're VERY frugal).  The minute we knew we were invited, we were THERE (in fact, Dennis said "we're going" before I could even read the whole invitation)!  So, 48 hours and counting - I can't wait to pamper myself (ourselves) for a long weekend!!!  And they are calling for perfect weather...  mid 40's at night / high 60's or low 70's during the day.  I think I'm going to end up wearing the green dress I wore in Chicago or else the Plum dress I've been holding on to for over a year (will need Spanx) - I'm bringing both - and will see which one feels the best on Saturday!  Will post pix on Sunday/Monday when we get back...
