OK - I suck because I forgot to get a picture of the "off-white" outfit before getting into my PJ's last night. Sorry! I will put it on and take a picture of it this weekend once I wash it... :-) Thanks for all the "kudos" on braving light colors. Of course, I never even thought about what the cellulite issue might look like - LOL - oh well!

I went to the kick-off for the 10K training team I joined last night... Our local YMCA is partnering with an organization that sponsor's the Monument Avenue 10K in March. Apparently this race one of the top 10 races in the COUNTRY in terms of size! Bigger than the Boston Marathon and Marine Corps Marathon with over 35,000 people! Yikes! A little intimidating, but it will be fun! So for the next 10 weeks, I will be training with the Y and my fellow runners (plus my GREAT cul-de-sac buddies) to run this race. The schedule for the "Novice Runners" group for the first week is as follows:
- Saturday 1/16 = Group Run, 1 mile steady
- Sunday = rest
- Monday = cross train or run (self)
- Tuesday = 1 mile run
- Wednesday = rest
- Thursday = 1 1/2 miles, "easy"
- Friday = rest
- Saturday 1/23 = Group Run, 2 miles steady
I'm excited to start something new. I am signed up for this race, and then the weekend before I am doing the Shamrock 8k in Virginia Beach. I think that I am going to sign up for a few other races over the next few months to get myself a bit closer to my goal of running a mile for every year old I am this year!

Congrats on the running and training. It's been a long time since I did any running, but when I did it I really loved it. And it's extra fun to train with a group of people. Sounds like a really good training program, and you are already racking up the miles. Have fun!
You know what? When I read about you doing something (like getting ready for the races) I dont even doubt for a moment that you WONT be able to do it. You will and we will be so proud of you! Dont you think it is amazing how far you have come with what you can physically do?
I am so proud of you. You truly are my inspiration to get my butt out there are run again. I'm signed up for my first 5K this march and once that is over I think I'll be looking for more..THANK YOU !!
So good to see you're training for a 10K, too. I am , too. We can keep each other motivated and I wanna know all your tips!
You look amazing- can't wait to hear more about the race.
You continue to inspire me, and to prove it - I just signed up for a 6k!! I "completed" my first and only race, a 5k, about two months before my surgery. I walked most of the way and my time was terrible!
I just started training again last week and was going to sign up "soon" for a race. Thanks so much for motivating me and making me realize that I want to be like you when i grow up, lol!
You Rock!! I can't wait to see the fab pics of you in your pretty pants:)
