have any of you noticed...
That since being banded, cocktails hit you harder than before? I had a few glasses of wine before dinner (my fault, as the casserole that I had frozen was CLEARLY frozen - almost 2 hours at 450 to get to even a "warm" temp)... and man - it hit me hard. It was white wine, which I find a lot easier to imbibe than red, but regardless... wow. Then I ate the casserole, which included hamburger - not a good combination. For some reason, since my last fill, hamburger just does NOT agree with me - sticks me up every time. OK - note to self, avoid whites and hamburger for a while. No doubt I'll be up a bit tomorrow as a result. Damn. But, lesson learned. I feel like an idiot for not putting two and two together, but I guess, lesson learned. Damn.

Life as we knew it before banding is definetly not the same lol. I feel for you when you can't even have a drink without feeling it's effect. I haven't tried that yet but I do feel like a glass of red is on the cards for me soon!
hahah...i cant help you on this one bc I have only a few drinks since banding, but let's look at it as a great learning opportunity!!!
You know, I haven't had a drink yet, but my nurse had told me that before I left the hospital. Maybe you should try having a less delicious burger (y'know, with turkey or veggie) to avoid any pain.
Interesting! I wonder why the wine would pack even more of a punch?
I've heard that bandsters are light weights, and it is sooo true! I had a Mike's hard lime a couple days ago, and got buzzed on the equivalent of one big gulp of it!! WHAT THE??? Maybe they should make little mini cocktail glasses for bandsters!!! lol
I knew that absorption changed with bypass, but didn't think it did with LB ... oh well - guess it will help the wallet too!!! ;-)
OOOoooOOOoo somebody got a little snockered. LOL I havent had a drink yet to exprience the buzz LOL.
