I knew I had to get out there and run... but honestly, that chatterbox was on my shoulder all day... "the conference started at 7am, you have dinner at 6pm, you don't have enough time, you don't have your buddies with you"... But, I came back, put on my workout gear and promptly chickened out. For some reason, I got completely freaked out to go outside and run by myself, on the boardwalk, in broad daylight. Seriously... WTF??? So, I went to the Hampton Inn gym. I did 1 mile on the treadmill (totally different than running outside) and then did 10 minutes on the bike... by this time, I talked myself off the cliff and decided I would just go outside and walk. That was better than nothing, right? So, I walked to the end of the boardwalk, which conveniently turned out to be half a mile exactly. You-know-who was chattering away while I walked, so, I decided to drown her in the Atlantic ocean. Well, not exactly, but I figured that if I ran the whole half-a-mile back to the hotel, she would have to shut up because I had to concentrate on breathing and not tripping over my own two feet. You know the outcome....
I
Ran
Half-a-Freaking
Mile.
STRAIGHT!!!
WITHOUT STOPPING!!!
(pant, pant, gasp, pant, gasp)
Screw you beyatch!!
And the funniest part? Due to an issue with static electricity and not using a dryer sheet, I apparently had a knee-hi stocking hanging out the back of my shirt the entire time... LOL... and here I thought I'd look stupid running!!!

I'm so freaking proud of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!! I totally LOL'd about the knee high flapping in the breeze behind you. I think it was mean Sarah trying to hang on for dear life as you showed her who's boss. Way to go!
haha you just made me starting laughing out loud. Great job today, you really inspire me to not listen to that mean voice in my head, I hear every morning telling me to sleep that extra half hour instead of going to the gym. Congrats on the half mile, that's awesome!
I live in VA beach and I can tell you the boardwalk is very safe! I'm glad you got out there and drowned her. If I knew sooner, I would have met you there and walked with you!!! good for you!
Awww... Rhonda - bummer! I can't wait to meet people who I get to blog with! Someday. Yes, I know it is safe - I really think it was mean sarah just trying to sabotage... but, she's gone for today! :-)
I am very proud of you but I'm upset that you made me spit my water all over my laptop screen with laughter when I read your post!! ;-)

Yay!!! Good for you!
lol to the knee-high stocking - done the same with a pair of MOTH's bright red jocks hanging out the back. Bloody dryers!
Way to go on the running! I know how hard that is - still can't go the same distance as you but working on it. You are doing amazing, Sarah and you have a right to shout it from the hilltops.
Hugs

You are awesome!!! That is the best!!! I love it that you didn't let Mean Sarah take control. And, you ran half a mile without stopping -- that is great!!
