Do you ever wonder...

Just why it is that some size 20's (or whatever size) fit, and others don't? Amy & Catherine - I am getting SO CLOSE to fitting into the Gap pants you both sent. I mean, centimeters away! THANK YOU AGAIN!!! In fact, one pair I was able to put on and zipper this morning, but there was just too big of an "overhang" in the tummy and I wouldn't have been able to sit at my desk all day. However, my pair of size 20 lands' end jeans fit great! Who knows... Darn it - I've worked hard to get to this size... almost... don't these places KNOW that the clothes should fit me?!?!? :-) What are other bandsters "stand-by" or "go-to" food? For me, I've noticed that it is a few things...
  1. Eggs. I love them. Seriously love them. Scrambled, fried, over-easy, you name it, I'll eat it. yum.
  2. Greek Yogurt. Add some fruit and granola, and again, yummy! Love it!
  3. Cottage Cheese. one of those low-fat breakstone 4oz. containers is great. And mix it with a hard-boiled egg, salt, and pepper??? = instant egg salad! (I like it anyway)
  4. Fish... I haven't found a fish I can't eat yet. I've even been able to do a small piece of calamari with a LOT of chewing.
  5. Trail Mix - I started making my own a few weeks before WDW and it is great... and the rest of the family likes it too... (Walnuts, slivered almonds, a cereal of some kind like granola, cheerios, or the mini shredded wheat, and dried fruit)

How about any "eating out" food/restaurant suggestions? Given that I have a 5 year old, we don't get out to many "fancy" restaurants often... so my suggestions here are NOT for the foodies in the group...

  1. McDonald's: I love their yogurt and fruit parfaits - just the right size! (160 cal / 4g protein)
  2. Tropical Smoothie: Yum, yum, yum... give me an Orange Dream smoothie with Whey Protein added - yippee. They are huge though. Too big to do in one sitting anymore!
  3. Cracker Barrel: Okay, not my FAVORITE restaurant by any stretch, BUT their kids meals are "for kids of any age" and you can get a vegetable plate or shrimp or chicken tenders (grilled, not fried) and a drink for $3.50. Can't beat that! And it is STILL way too much food.
  4. "Adult"... if I can get a rare piece of tuna, YAY! and YUM!

What's your biggest weakness when it comes to the band?

Mine is wine. I'm a wino. Well, not really but I do love my glass of Chardonnay at night... (sigh). If only it had protein in it.

Happy 4th of July weekend everyone!!!

Thanks for the insight. I'll have to determine some go-to foods soon enough, but I'm thinking it won't be many of yours! :) I"m a pretty picky eater. Scrambled eggs is the only way I'll eat em! Have a great weekend yourself!

I had my first fill day before yesterday but I have no restriction. So I tend to eat eggs a lot too. Good way to down the protein AND have something nice to eat. You will be in those pants in no time. :)

sadly, i dont have many go-to foods that are good for you. lol...usually mine are chips. I do love fruit though, so grapes, cherries, bananas or melon is nice to have when I am craving something sweet.

On the road, there isnt much fast food I eat. Chick-fil-a nuggets, Wendy's chili or nuggets...and thats about it for fast food.

At grownup restraunts I can eat quesidillas, hamburgers without the bun, etc. I love the chicken tortilla soup at Red Robin! It is the best!

As for the clothing sizes...its really crazy. I always know my true size by my slacks from Lane Bryant. Kmart's 22's are really a very small 20.

I cant wait until you can wear the gap capris.
