A good affirmation of success...

Thanks everyone for the kind and encouraging words (and for not allowing me to wallow in my own pity-party). Today was better - I got up and ran this morning, and I do think that getting the endorphins going helps to make things better. This afternoon, my dress and handbag arrived... remember this post about my dream dress from last week? Well, I was pretty nervous because according to the catalog, the measurements for a size 18 were going to be tight in the hips. Guess what? It is almost too big! I probably could have easily gotten away with the 16! No, I COULD HAVE gotten away with a 16, and probably without the need for Spanx! I think I still might keep it and have my mom do a bit of nipping and tucking on the top (just sew some darts or something) because it is SO comfy on the bottom (not tight - but flattering in a straight-cut kind of way if that makes sense)... And I might just order another one in a 14 or (gasp!) a 12 to work toward!!! This was kind of a pre-cursor "test" to me going into a "normal" store... instead, I just ordered a "normal" size from afar. Note-to-self... I have NO CLUE where my body is in terms of size, so it is probably time to do some shopping! And as a side note, the hand bag is AWESOME! It looks a lot bigger than it is, but that is great for me because I don't carry a ton in my purse - just big enough to hold everything and maybe a tad more if I needed it - but not humungous! YAY! Nice way to end a day. I'll try to get some pix up of me in the dress soon! Oh ... and I found a (hopefully) matching madras dress on Ebay for Lucia - hopefully the two prints are close enough that we can do some nice Family pix without us clashing! LOL...
