A beautiful weekend (and my first PB)

What a wonderful weekend!  We've just had one of those perfect few days.  I wish I could hit rewind, and do them again.  Friday I was off, running errands all over town.  I don't usually like to, but for whatever reason it was really enjoyable.  We had some great friends over for dinner Friday night, and just spent the evening talking, laughing, and eating good food.

Saturday, we had a full day.  Yard sales in the AM, Soccer, then a spring festival at Lucia's school and finished off with an Easter Egg hunt.  Needless to say, we ALL slept well last night. The picture above is of Lucia (middle) and her friends Natalie (left) and Katie (right) at the Egg Hunt.  Lucia found the most eggs, but both Natalie and Katie found "golden" eggs, which entitled them to a special prize.  Lu was NOT happy about that!

I also got to experience my first "PB" (productive burp) after getting some food stuck on Saturday.  It was an interesting experience.  Bizarre, really!  Thankfully, nothing too major.  After soccer, we took Natalie with us to go to Lu's school for a spring festival they had.  Since the girls hadn't eaten, we got them hot dogs.  Lucia didn't finish hers, so I took a small bite of it.  Chewed, and was fine.  Then I took a second bite, and wasn't paying attention to how well I chewed it up before I swallowed.  Obviously not well enough!  It got stuck.  Big time.   Basically, it feels like you swallow something too big and it doesn't actually make it into your stomach, just kind of sits in your esophagus area.  So I took a sip of water to see if that would help, and it didn't.  The water had no where to go, except back out. Fun.  Hence, the PB reference! However, in addition to it kind of hurting, I was VERY embarrassed, because there I am, standing in the hall of Lu's preschool, trying not to hurl, with my hand over my mouth, trying to figure out which preschool bathroom to bolt into.  And the owner is staring at me in horror, thinking that their food had gotten me sick.  So, after it worked its way out, I went back and apologized to her - explained what had happened... which turned into 20 minutes of me explaining the surgery, answering her questions, etc.... Funny!  Thankfully, she completely understood.  They all know I had the surgery, because with a 4 year old saying "my mommy was in the hospital", they would have gotten worried so I told them proactively.

At any rate, the hotdog (really, it was more the bun that got stuck) worked its way thru within about 30 minutes.  But I didn't eat much more yesterday!  I am definitely noticing that I have a lot less capacity for food than I did before my fill!  Good lessons.

Today was as beautiful as yesterday.  Dennis, Lucia and I headed up to Kings Dominion to get our season passes activated.  It opened this weekend, and we had a blast.  73 degrees and perfect weather!  Good weekend overall.
