New Goals

I've been thinking... A lot. And over this 7 month (post-surgery) journey, lots of my goals have morphed and changed... and some have stayed the same. But in terms of number goals, I'm changing mine. Probably not for the last time. I was reading Catherine's recent post about hitting 60 pounds lost, and I asked her in my comment what percentage of her body she'd lost (in case you're interested, she's lost 26% WAY TO GO CATHERINE!). I think sometimes that is more interesting than the pounds. So, I decided to see for myself where I am... and I'm 1/10 of a pound away from having lost 20% of my body.
20% of my body!
That is absolutely amazing to me. I'll get there this week. It's a great goal to work toward. At first when I started this journey, I got a lot of questions about "how much weight do you want to lose"? I had no idea. So, I picked 150. It seemed like a nice round number and was on that chart that the Doctor's office has that says where you're supposed to be. I'm not sure how realistic that is, so I've moved the ticker up to 160. Because you know what? If I get there, I will have lost 40% of my body. Incredible to think about. I'm sure it will change again, not sure which way. But, I'm getting there! Can't wait for 20% and 60 pounds and so on, and so on. Happy Rainy Friday from Virginia!

It made me feel so great to see your post!! Thank you! :)

20% is amazing -- isn't that incredible? You have lost 1/5 of your body! I am with you on the goal adjustment -- you can just see how you feel when you get there.

I love it that you are thinking of the % lost. That was really interesting to think about. I'll be 37% smaller when I get to my goal of 155 (that's my reasonable goal. . aspirational goal is 145).

With 26% less bootie, it's no wonder that I'm more comfortable on airplanes. . :)
