X-ray Update

I'm back... The good news is that my band hasn't slipped. YAY! I was worried about that... I don't have bad news per se, but it does appear that my port is inverted (upside down) which made it very difficult for them to get the needle in... OUCH! Hurt like a ... well, you fill in the blank. Also, she thinks I might (like 10% chance) have a heital hernia... that is a wait-and-see thing. I was supposed to have 7cc's in a 10 cc band. She only got 6.5cc's out, but said that because of the angle and the port inversion, she wasn't worried about a leak - "the rest is in there somewhere". She took at least 1 cc out - I think I'm at 5 or 5.5cc's now... I'm not sure how I feel about that, but honestly if it means my acid reflux goes away and I have to be that much more vigilent to ensure that I don't eat more than I am supposed to, then so be it! I have another appointment toward the end of October, so if I need a slight re-fill then, that is okay. So all in all good news all the way around. And 10 pounds down since my last visit to them. Yay!

Technical question: prior to the xray did you have suspicions that your band's port was inverted?

I only ask because my spidey sense says mine may be, too.

It's just a weird feeling I have. I base it on how weird the area feels and how much bruising I had after surgery.

Like you I don't think it will have major impact, but I'mm just wondering if you sensed something wasn't quite right?

(Then again I thought I had hypoglycemia, so um, who knows?)

Hmmmm... I always thought it was tipped - when I push on the area, I can definitely feel that it is at an angle, and the doc made a point to tell me he had to stitch it pretty close to the ribs b/c my stomach cavity was so small (ROFLOL)... Listen to your instincts!

Yay and double Yay that you have not slipped. The rest seems like it will work itself out. I hope things get much better!

Kinda good news! Sucks it's inverted but at least you won't be super tight anymore and can get more nutrients in. I'm sure by now you can be vigilent if need be, you've done so well already!!!
