My Favorite Things

Do you ever have one of those days where you're slap-happy? Just delirious? I seem to be having one. I've had some BAD allergies the last few days, and I just seem to be in a weird mood (my friends who I've been emailing with this AM can attest to this). At any rate, I've also gotten a TON done this morning at work so far (it's kind of like I'm hyped up on amphetamines or something, since I know what those are like - not!)... so I thought I'd put my random thoughts out here this morning. I used to be a big fan of Oprah - not anymore for a number of reasons, but I liked her "favorite things" series. So here are a few of mine, no rhyme or reason to them today!

1. Books. I used to LOVE to read as a little girl. I still do, but don't get to do as much of it. My favorite series of all time was the Trixie Belden series (kind of like Nancy Drew, but WAY cooler IMHO). I've started collecting the hardbacks, and have all of them that I've been able to find. However, I'm still missing #26,#27 and #28 in paperback... Ebay, watch out (I keep getting outbid, damn it!).
2. Harry Potter. LOVE the book series AND the movies. For whatever reason (the same one as I had with Trixie Belden), I love to get lost in the stories and imagine myself as one of the characters. Can't wait for "The Half Blood Prince" to come out on July 17th. (Yes, I am a dork)... And I'm looking for anyone who wants to go with me to see it!
3. Crocs. Huh? Yes, I'm off the book topic and onto Shoes. Did you know that Crocs make heels? Check it out here... I had them on yesterday with the skirt (prior post). They make my feet happy.
4. I'm a Jersey Girl.... Yup - and proud of it! I also like Reality TV shows. Guess what?!?!? they combined them into The Real Housewives of New Jersey. LOVE IT! Totally trashy, and I love watching every minute of it. I swear - I went to high school with a few of the girls in there. And last night, I saw that they are advertising for a new show, called NYC Prep. I also went to boarding school in New England for the last two years of high school, so I can't wait to watch that one either! (complete polar opposite from public high school in NJ - and I'm not sure I really fit naturally into either place)
5. Given that I'm a Jersey Girl, I love me some Cheesesteaks... if you've never had a Cheesesteak in South Jersey or Philly, you've never had a Cheesesteak. End of discussion. Don't give me this "steak-and-cheese" crap, or a "cheese and steak" sandwich. It is a Cheesesteak, and it is made with Cheez-Whiz and Italian bread. 6. Wawa. (don't know what it is? I'm so sorry!) Thank God they are in Virginia now. And that they carry Tastekakes. Don't know what that is? You need to go to New Jersey! (Do you see a theme of everything tying back to Jersey?!?!?)
