Repurposing Things & Pix of the new deck/porch

I've had some requests for pix of the new deck / screened in porch we're getting put on the house, as well as the table & chair set from the 1940's that my parents gave me.  It was my great Aunt's, and pretty rusty... but good quality.  So I've included that picture below.  I am blown away by what two cans of Rustoleum will do to make something old, brand new!!!
I redid the whole thing for under $55!  Love a bargain... not sure how long the seat covers will last - they are a heavy duty suede, foam green color - very pretty - but since I already had the fabric, who cares if they rot out in a month!

On other re-purposing fronts, I've have a shirt that was my fat-girl "GO TO" shirt.  I've had it for years.  Whenever I wasn't sure what to wear, I went to this with a pair of black pants and a sweater.  Beautiful colors... I love blues and greens and the shirt reminded me of sea glass. Very, Very comfortable, easy to dress up or down.  However, it is now HUGE.  You can see from the pictures below how big it is.  We aren't stretching it out in the picture - just holding it to the seams.  CRAZY!
However, it is one of those pieces of clothing that I just can't part with.  I don't want to give it to anyone, I don't want to donate it, I don't want to sell it.  SO... I think I'm going to break out the sewing machine, and make a scarf out of it!  I was going to make a pillow with it, but I can wear a scarf...  Who knows what it will end up like, but hopefully something that I can keep to remember "when".  I'm so glad it doesn't fit anymore!
Hmmm.... wonder what else I can make with all these other clothes that are piling up because they are too big?!?!!?  :-)

You are crafty and can sew? WHAT! Can we live closer together so we you can be my go-to-girl for hemming? I dont have anything crafty or helpful to offer in return...I could brush your hair while you sew :) LOL

Thanks for posting the pics. Deck is beautiful and good job on the table and chairs. It looks cool. I love old stuff and the idea of recycling it is cool.

Sarah your deck is a dream, i can picture my self knitting out there watching my kids play, great outdoor space. You should totally do the scarf, it's a great idea, i should do something like that too, i also have clothes pilling, not to mention the ones i have donated already. I'm happy for you.
