Rustoleum, Painted Toes & Mother's Day

What a great weekend!  I love my 4 year old.  There is something so magical and exciting to them (and me) about miscellaneous holidays!!!  Lucia gave me a great Mother's Day.  She served me and Grandma coffee and OJ on the new screened in porch, with crumpets.  Mind you, this was after a meltdown when she spilled a little of Mom's coffee on her Hannah Montana pj's.

We got to open our presents, and I got a great Tervis tumbler for my protein smoothie shakes.  I also got a "fill-your-own" recipe holder, and a hand-painted watering can (about 3 inches) filled with ground cover.  Then, she promised me a pedicure and manicure (done by her) after our lunch.   And, she of course picked out the color: Hot, Hooker-Pink, Nail polish (see in the pix below)!  Crazy.

We went to church, had a delightful morning outside (perfect weather - low 70's and a good breeze), then went to Texas de Brazil for brunch.  Thankfully, it was "Mom's eat free" day, and since kids under 12 are free too, it was a good deal!  Especially because I am WAY more restricted than I've been, and I barely ate anything compared to what I used to eat there!

When we got home, Lucia let me take an hour nap (a true luxury in my house!), and then when I got up, we painted my toes... see next few pictures...  And then went to the park to try out the new swings / playground equipment our neighborhood put in.
Finally, we got home, and Lu played in the front yard for a while.  My parents gave me a table & chair set from the 1940's that I spent the last week or so sanding and repainting (hence the reference to Rustoleum - LOVE IT!)... This afternoon, I spent an hour re-covering the seats, and the set is completed and sitting on the porch!  Lovely...  I can't wait to use it all summer long!  Oh - and did you know you could Rustoleum plastic?!?!?  Thanks Ali for telling me that... so I also re-painted two white adirondack chairs.  Two brand new chairs for the price of $5/can of paint!  Rock on!  I love me a good deal.

BTW - I wore my "risky" sandals today and they didn't break!  Another Whoo Hooo!  Happy Mother's Day everyone!
